That’s right, leave Josh Howard alone!

A great article from David Zirin of SLAM -

Count me out of the fraternity of sports writers who under a kabuki pantomime of liberalism will “defend Howard’s right to say what he wants” and then crush him for opening his mouth.

Take J.A. Adande of ESPN.com. He starts his anti-Howard piece by writing:

“What makes America the best country on the planet is that you are free to stand or sit for the national anthem, to sing along or to yell in anger at the government as much as you want without getting tossed in jail for your political beliefs.”

What claptrap. Someone needs to send Adande a copy of the Patriot Act. Or maybe he could ask the people who attempted to exercise their Constitutional rights to “yell in anger” at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, MN, only to be subject to”pre-emptive” raids and prison. Maybe he could ask the journalists who were beaten and arrested by police for attempting to report on it.

Shame on you, S.A. Smith for throwing a brother under the bus like that, you suck. You and the ESPN writers are really bunch of idiots, trying to paint Josh like an angry black man, an idiot and a bigot, yet he knew the war was all for making a fucking profit. That alone made him smarter than 50% of the American!

Also, what is wrong with smoking weed? No one has ever die from smoking weed while alcohol and tobacco are killing people on a daily basis. People need to stop this fucking hypocrisy, and start using their brains.

-I believe some people have died from smoking weed.

-Yeah I agree. But Josh Howard shouldn’t be talking he’s hurting his former good image.

There are probably people who died from smoking weed due to allergic reaction. Just like there are people who died from eating peanuts, but the case is extremely rare; and as far as I know, no one has died from pot overdose. However, people dies from lung cancer or alcohol abuse everyday, and not to mention all these LEGAL drugs which contain some deadly side effects to human body.

I don’t think Josh’s ever got a good image to start with. :)

A massive number end up with permanent psychological problems, though. Just because it won’t kill you directly doesn’t mean it can’t do you serious harm. Oh, yea its illegal too. Stop breaking the law. :)

Yeah he did. Well Josh Howard when he first came into the league was an undrafted rookie steal that made the Dallas Mavericks. Everybody loved him.

Travis, there are way too much proven scientific study and evidences on the positive effects of marijuana already, but I doubt that you would care to look it up. Remember, it is legal in many countries and also the state of California.
I do agree with you that there are people who abuse it and caused themselves some harm, but it goes with everything else. I mean you can literally drink yourself to death, so why is alcohol legal? You have to realize that the US government and the pharmaceutical industry have been in bed for so many years. If marijuana were legalize today, prozac would be out of business in no time.

I am pretty sure people loved Josh’s skill more than his personality. That’s pretty well documented.

Cheers.

If marijuana is good for you then why is illegal? Why doesn’t the United States just legalize it then? If it is good for you.

Any substance that affects your brain is not good for you. :) Even if it doesn’t kill you right away.

Your right because alcohol and cigarette smoking should be illegal. But people would go crazy if it were.
